Cole Sprouse has finally opened up about his split with Lili Reinhart following the reports of their breakup. The actor took to Instagram to address their breakup for the first time.
The pair had gone their separate ways according to reports in May. Lili and Cole were together for three years. However, Cole says they broke up months earlier than it was reported. The actor posted a picture on his Instagram of what looks like Reinhart from a distance.
Cole said he and Lili split up back in January of this year but they permanently decided to break up in March. He described it as an incredible experience and feels lucky. The actor said he will cherish that he had a chance to fall in love. Cole further adds that he wishes nothing but love and happiness for her moving forward.
The actor clarified that this is all he will say about it and tells his fans anything else they hear is not true. He also went on to promote her upcoming movie on Netflix. “Also her movie comes out soon! I’m sure she’s just as incredible in it as everything else she does,” he added, referring to Reinhart’s upcoming movie, Chemical Hearts. “Thanks, guys ❤️.”
Cole addresses their split a day after Lili talks about heartache in an interview with Refinery29. She later also said she will not talk about her split publicly.

The actress says that quotes from her recent interview are not about a ‘breakup’ and rather it is about the depression she felt all these months. She says she is tired of people taking her words out of context. Lili clarified, “I would never speak so candidly about something as personal as a breakup. That’s incredibly private. I was addressing my depression.”
In her interview with Refinery29, she said that this is the first time in four years that she has been able to stop and take a step back to look at the changes in her life. Lili opens up about her career and mental health has its ups and downs. She said at one point she felt like she was in a “black tunnel [that] was never going to end.”
The Riverdale star said that she couldn’t see the light and she felt like she is dying. She described it as pretty rough and that there was no way than going through it. The actress further added that instead of trying to fill the void that she felt she should face the pain.
“I’ve seen a lot of people when it comes to heartache and grief and breakups, and they try to get that void filled with sex, with coke, with food, with drinking, [but] the void is still there,” Reinhart told Refinery29. “I took the road less traveled and just dealt with my s—. I had to face my own pain head-on.”
The actress admits to the last few months being the most emotional few months of her life. Her therapist told Lili that her body is going through withdrawal from love. Lili explained that people are used to having this exchange of happy chemicals between two people who love each other.
She further added, “In moments of my life, I have dropped every ounce of pride that I had just to be like, ‘Love me. Please take the pain away for a day, a second, an hour,’ just so I can feel that fix again.”
