Chungha Releases ‘Bad Girl’ For LACHICA, Fans Call Her “Queen”

After a brief hiatus from the public eye, K-pop sensation Chungha has returned with a bang. In February, she made a comeback with the release of her first studio album, ‘Querencia,’ and was featured in Rain’s ‘Why Don’t We’.

In May, she was also a part of the I.O.I reunion to commemorate their fifth anniversary. Fans have seen her at weddings and art fairs, but that’s all they’ve seen of her. Chungha has released K-drama OSTs and an original song for Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter, therefore October is a fortunate month for Byulharangs (her fans).

Chungha gave her voice for the OST ‘Someday’ in the K-drama ‘One The Woman’ last week, according to reports. It’s also worth noting that Doyeon, her former I.O.I member, appears in the drama as the second lead. Chungha’s followers were also ecstatic to learn that she would be appearing on the renowned survival show, Street Woman Fighter.

LACHICA, one of the participating crews is a personal friend of hers. They worked out together, were her backup dancers, and choreographed several of her shows. And the final two missions were shown in Episode 9 of Street Woman Fighter, which also happened to be the final episode.

The Colour of Crew Mission required the finalist crews to prepare a performance. For the Performance Sound Source Mission, they also had to create a performance for an artist as well as an original song. The crews had been inviting artist friends on past missions; and everyone was wondering when LA CHICA would invite Chungha, given their close relationship. It appears that it has finally happened; as the crew collaborated with the singer on her own song Bad Girl.

Chungha wrote a new song called Bad Girl especially for LACHICA and gave it to them on the last episode of Street Woman Fighter. Furthermore, she chose to participate in a different way. LACHICA’s rendition of Performance Sound Source Mission featured the idol. As Chungha emerged on stage, the crew danced in masks.

She sang ‘Bad Girl’ live while LACHICA exhibited their performance. Both acts expressed gratitude for one another; with Chungha referring to herself as LACHICA’s “secret member”. The song ‘Bad Girl’ will be released on major music streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, MelOn, and others on October 27 at 6 p.m. KST (5 a.m. ET).

Fans were pleasantly surprised with Chungha’s appearance on the show. One tweeted about the performance, “Chungha’s singing beside them.” Another fan added, “During Producer, Rian unnie was sitting in the audience to cheer for Chungha, but in SWF, Chungha sits in the audience and cries when she sees Rian tearing up the stage.
