Chrissy Teigen Explains Decision To Quit Twitter

Chrissy Teigen talked about her decision to leave Twitter. The model posted a screenshot of her deactivated Twitter account to Instagram. She had stepped away from the social media app just a day ago.

The cookbook author said it is true and that the platform no longer served her in a positive way. She shared that social media was more negative and that is the reason she stepped away. The model wrote, “It’s true! The platform no longer serves me as positively as it does negatively, so with that I bid you adieu.”

Chrissy further explained that she does not blame Twitter or the people sending her negative messages. She shared that it is because of her and that she has to come to terms with the fact that some people are not going to like her. The cookbook author wrote, “I hate letting people down or upsetting people and I feel like I just did it over and over and over. Someone can’t read that they disappointed you in some way every single day, all day without physically absorbing that energy. I can feel it in my bones.”

The model had announced her departure from the social media app on Wednesday night. She spent more than 10 years on the platform and has had her share of criticism. The Cravings author shared she has been “deeply bruised” over the years. She also had another message as she encouraged social media users to know and never forget that their words matter.

“I don’t wanna be this way! I just am!”

Chrissy wrote, “I have made my mistakes, throughout years and in front of hundreds of thousands, and been held accountable for them. I’ve learned an incredible amount here.” Adding that she has “said f— up s— and killed myself over it as much as you killed me.”

The model further shared that she has not learned how to block out the negativity. She said, “I’m just a sensitive s—, okay!? I don’t wanna be this way! I just am! But I love you guys and I cherish our time together, I truly do. I also hate you.”

The model had hinted earlier this week that her growing unhappiness of being on Twitter. She shared she does not wake up every day trying to make anyone mad but somehow she does. The Cravings author shared that people say she has no talent and that is something.

Chrissy had taken a short break last fall as she suffered a pregnancy loss but had returned in October. She has shared information about her life and never shied away from speaking her mind about certain issues. The model has also been sharing plenty about her family and new cooking videos as she works on completing her third cookbook.

She recently relaunched her Cravings website and released a home cleaning and self-care line called Safely with Kris Jenner.
