Cardi B Speaks Out on Racial Inequality: “We Just Want Justice”

In the September issue for Elle, Cardi B opens up about prejudice in the state of America.

The rapper opened up about a million things and one of them was racial inequality. She said as Black people she thinks they are not asking for sympathy or charity. The rapper clarifies that they are asking for equality. In an interview with Joe Biden, she revealed that they need fairness and justice.

“I feel like everything people are asking for is getting interpreted in a very different way,” the rapper continued. “No, it’s simple: We just want justice. We want to feel like Americans.”

At the beginning of this month, Cardi had urged male rappers to come forward to talk about Breonna Taylor. Breonna was shot eight times inside her own house by plainclothes police officers. They shot her on the claims that they had obtained a “no-knock” search warrant in connection with a narcotics investigation.

However, the real criminal was arrested hours ago and there were no drugs in Breonna’s house either. Cardi addressed the prejudice during her interview with Elle.

“Nobody wants to feel targeted. Nobody wants animosity. Everybody just wants the best for themselves, their future, their kids’ future,” she explained. “I don’t want to [have to] tell my kid, ‘You have to be careful going to the store. Don’t wear a hoodie. Please don’t get stopped.’ We don’t want that.”

The rapper continued that she does not want to feel a certain type of animosity for a certain race because she feels they get it easier than them. She assures nobody wants to feel that way and asks why cannot they work with each other.

Cardi Wants Future Generation to Educate Themselves

Cardi is hoping that the future generation is going to be a part of the decisions by educating themselves. She also hopes that they cast their votes this year in November. However, in spite of all of this, the rapper has few issues on her priority list which also includes coronavirus.

“We’re dealing with a pandemic right now, and I just want answers. I want to know when this will be over. I want to go back to my job,” she explained. Cardi further adds that she wants the president to tell them what steps are to be taken to make things better. She wants the president to tell her why are we not doing better than other countries and tell the truth.

The rapper recently had massive success with her new collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are over the moon. The rappers took to Instagram to inform everybody that their song WAP is number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

WAP debuts at 93 million U.S. streams, the most for a song’s opening week in history. Cardi gushed about the same fact and told her followers to look. She posted a video reading the tweets with impressive stats. WAP has the biggest sales week in 2020 and holds the number one position on the digital song sales chart.

WAP Breaks Records

“I’m gonna get glammed up and I’m gonna give you a testimony,” she continued. “I want to say thank you so much Megan Thee Stallion. I hope you’re as happy as I am.” The rapper captioned the video saying this is the fourth time she is on number one on Billboard. She said she is thankful and wants to hug the Lord. Cardi gushes, “Thank you soo much @theestallion.I don’t even know how to thank you, I wish I can give you a big a** hug!!!”

Cardi also had a second post where she shared screenshots of the tweets she was reading from. “Breaking pop records! HIP HOP DID THAT!! I’m sooo f**kin happy,” she wrote. The rapper continued saying she is very happy and that she did not expect this. She further thanks Megan and says she is going to get drunk early.

Megan also expressed her happiness via Instagram and revealed she and Cardi were screaming on the phone. “FIRST FEMALE RAP COLLABORATION IN HISTORY TO DEBUT AT NUMBER 1. God is so great  THANK YALL!!!,” she wrote. “@iamcardib thank you for all your words of encouragement, thank you for all the laughs, & thank you for having me on the record  #WAP”

Cardi and Megan debuted the track earlier this month, with a star-studded music video that featured Kylie Jenner, Normani, and more. The song met with a lot of controversies but Cardi was more than happy because it meant people are listening to it more.
