‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ concert

BTS began the ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ online concert from the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, on October 24 at 6:30 p.m. KST (3:00 p.m. IST).

BTS stormed onto the stage for their first concert since last year, breaking through barriers both literally and metaphorically. Though they entered through the gates broken down with their own powerful singing of ‘ON,’ RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, and Jungkook entered via the gates broken down with their own powerful singing of ‘ON.’ Following the news of his muscle pain, Member V came in from a side chair.

‘Burning Up (FIRE)’ began over the beats of drums as the virtual cheering of their fans grew, adding to the ever-present buzz around the boy group’s songs. BTS marched on with ‘DOPE’ and proceeded with signature greetings that brought us back to when these boys swept their hands through their hair and tossed flying kisses in stadiums full of fans while we tuned in for more than 200 minutes of pleasure from our rooms, much like thousands of others.

The white warriors proceeded with a powerful ‘DNA’ performance, which once again showcased the dance talents of the seven South Korean boys. BTS left no stone untouched with a mesmerizing capture of ‘Black Swan’ in its literal meaning, dressed in long coats this time as perfect vocals came through in ‘Blue And Grey.’ It looked as if the bird had come alive right in front of our eyes, with ruffles on the outfits and feathers in the air.

The BTS members then asked each other whether they were ready, and under a moonlit stage, a hard-hitting choreography in the shape of a mash-up of the group’s instrumentally and visually appealing tracks ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’ and ‘FAKE LOVE’ awaited. Member V joined for a picture-perfect ending, as each of them detached from Jin’s hands one by one, bringing forth a desperate story that left us wanting more.

The BTS carriage continued in the performance for ‘Boy With Luv,’ hopping from a bed to a huge sofa in ‘Life Goes On,’ offering us a vibrant view into the life of a fan. The members’ passion was evident, and the ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Butter’ sets were like a breath of fresh air. We were driven to a celebration in their style, with live trumpets blasting in line with the group’s larger-than-life objective.
