BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and others have been nominated for MTV EMAs in 2021
The nominees for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) were announced on October 20. With the surge in global popularity of K-pop and the impact of Korean music industry performers, award juries have had to pay more attention to these superstars.
MTV Europe Music Awards 2021
Every year, more inclusion is expected of award shows, and the MTV EMA this year appears to be no exception. BTS, MONSTA X, NCT 127, and TWICE were nominated in the Best K-pop category, along with two BLACKPINK members, Lisa and Rosé, who have risen to the top as solo artists by releasing chart-topping music.
With one of the most anticipated awards, BTS’ ARMY and BLACKPINK’s BLINKs will compete for the Biggest Fans trophy alongside Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift’s fandoms. BTS, in particular, has won this honor for the past three years.
Imagine Dragons, Jonas Brothers, Little Mix, Mneskin, and Silk Sonic are among the other nominees in the Best Group category, which BTS has won for three consecutive years.
Last but not least, BTS receives its fourth nomination for Best Pop, competing alongside Imagine Dragons, Jonas Brothers, Little Mix, Mneskin, and Silk Sonic for the award.
The 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards will take place on November 14 at 3 p.m. ET (November 15 at 12:30 AM IST).
BLACKPINK’s Lisa Collaborates With DJ Snake
This is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration. BLACKPINK’s Lisa, who made a successful solo debut this year, is teaming up with DJ Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ozuna, all of whom are known for their distinct musical talents.
After a series of teases from DJ Snake, who ultimately confirmed the release just days before the official announcement, SG will be released. Further, the record producer and DJ have launched a luminous teaser poster for the collaboration single, which includes the artists.
