The much-anticipated K-drama’s launch date is approaching. ‘Snowdrop’ will premiere on jTBC’s channel and Disney+ on December 18 at 10.30 p.m. KST (8.30 a.m. ET). Jung Hae-in, renowned for his performances in the Netflix K-drama ‘D.P.’ and the rom-com ‘One Spring Night,’ stars in the K-drama.
Blinks (Blackpink’s fandom) is especially excited about ‘Snowdrop,’ because the female lead is none other than Jisoo from Blackpink. Because this is her first significant part, the outpouring of support has been incredible. Now that we’ve seen the final trailer for the programme, fans are even more enthusiastic.
We’ve been getting a few trailers that feature the initial meeting between Jung Hae-character in’s Su-ho and Jisoo’s character Young-ro for the past several weeks. We also witness her tending to Su-ho; after he is injured in a botched student protest. Fans knew there would be anguish in this film set during the South Korean uprising of the 1980s; but the last two teasers have them terrified about a sad finale.
The final trailer, which hints at peril in the lovers’ paradise, was released on November 26. And the pleasant moments of Young-ro and Su-ho in the second trailer of ‘Snowdrop’ are actually flashbacks; with the male lead grieving in the present while Jisoo’s voice is heard through a tape recorder; leading viewers to believe she would die in the end.
Well, the latest and final K-drama trailer hasn’t helped matters. The teaser begins with Hae-in’s character reminiscing about their good moments; with flashbacks of the couple dancing and constructing origami; before ending with Young-ro pointing a gun at him with shaking hands.
Fans Support Jisoo
Jisoo and Hae-in were asked about their opinions of each other and the show during a photoshoot and interview. Fans are excited about their chemistry in the drama because they seemed at ease with each other and joked a lot throughout the interview. When questioned about their favourite sequence in ‘Snowdrop,’ the two gave similar responses.
The moment in which Su-ho meets Young-ro for the first time and the chemistry between the characters while playing with cassette tapes was Hae-favorite. in’s Jisoo; a member of Blackpink, agreed, explaining that their first meeting was her favourite.
Blinks, in particular, is both pleased and concerned about Young-ro’s destiny; as they were impressed with Jisoo’s performance in such a difficult role. One fan tweeted, “ACTRESS KIM JISOO.” Another Blink shared, “I’m so proud.” One fan commented, “Not them being cute and suddenly pointing a gun at each other…..” Fans also loved the chemistry between Jisoo and Jung Hae-in, “Haesoo, the hottest couple ever.”
