Beyonce and Cardi B Support Black Man Paralysed After Police Shot Him

Celebrities have once again united to call out the police department after another Black man is shot seven times. The shooting of Jacob Blake has continued the fight for justice for Black people.

Beyonce and Cardi B have spoken out on the recent incident of police brutality. The police shot Jacob multiple times leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

Beyonce shared her sympathy and support to Jacob and his family. It was claimed that it would take a miracle for him to come out walking again. He was shot on Sunday in Wisconsin in front of his three children. The incident was captured on camera and the video circulated social media causing rage and anger among people.

Beyonce shared a picture of Jacob and his family and wrote, “Sending prayers and thoughts to Jacob Blake and his family.” The singer has previously voiced out her support to the community and also did encouraged people to vote.

This comes just three months after George Floyd’s unfortunate death. George was also a victim of police brutality in Minneapolis leading to protests for months at a stretch. This incident has also awakened protests in the Wisconsin city of Kenosha.

Ben Crump, the attorney of Jacob Blake, revealed that he got shot in the spinal cord and shattered his vertrbrae. The officers who were behind the attack have not been identified yet, however, Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating.

Cardi B also expressed her disappointment by posting the clip on her social media handle. She called the incident sickening and expressed her surprise questioning the excuse they will come up with now. “SOMETHING MUST HAPPEN!” the rapper said.

Camila Cabello, Demi Lovato and More Demand Action

Demi Lovato is also one of the celebrities who came forward speaking against the injustice. She urged her followers to demand action against the officers behind the brutality that they witnessed. The singer added saying there is no need for this kind of force.

Camila Cabello also called for the officers involved to face action. She also wrote: “We need change, we need these cops ARRESTED, and we need a sign that this government has enough empathy and cares enough about humanity to do something about it.”

Chelsea Handler, comedian, also posted a powerful message saying being an ally is not a social media trend. She noted how Black people have been fighting this for centuries and the little progress everybody made had no weight.

Jacob Blake’s shooting has enraged the months-long unrest among people for the injustice against Black people and police brutality. George Floyd’s death caused protests worldwide questioning authorities and demanding justice. Many such cases have come forward since then which includes the most brutal case of Breonna Taylor. She was shot eight times at her own house.

The list of injustice also includes a case of a 26-year-old African American medical worker shot dead by police in Louisville, Kentucky, in March. Celebrities have time and again demanded action and justice. They have continuously urged their fans to vote and demand justice as well.

As protests and calls for action in the Black Lives Matter movement continue around the world, celebrities also urged their fans and followers to seek justice for Breonna Taylor.

Joining forces with Taylor’s mother Tamika Palmer, stars including Alicia Keys, Cardi B, and more came together to urge fans to help seek justice for Taylor. Taylor, a 26-year-old EMT worker, fatally shot by police during a raid at her home in Louisville, on March 13. 

As part of a campaign launched by social justice organization, ‘Until Freedom’, celebrities published a nearly three-minute-long video to Twitter. In the clip’s opening, they posed a question before their millions of followers: “Do you know what happened to Breonna Taylor?”
