Bella Thorne is making the post of her quarantine time, as she has a few things that are coming up. The actress keeps busy as she feels extremely grateful for having her boyfriend, Benjamin Mascolo, beside her.
Bella and Benjamin have been dating each other since the last year of April. In an interview with ET, the actress gushed how she got so lucky with her Ben. She said, “I got so lucky with my Ben. He’s really just the perfect specimen and I honestly don’t know how I got so blessed with him.”
Bella says she loves constantly learning about Benjamin’s culture, life, and everything. She said it is interesting when you date someone who has not grown up with the same values that you did.
“There’s so much conversation to be had. So we really got to really know each other,” she says about their time in quarantine, adding that the “five months away from each other was hard…I got very lucky.”
Bella was promoting her Netflix movie, The Babysitter: Killer Queen. She thinks she has been lucky when it comes to her career as well and hopes to build it further. The actress revealed that she would want to publish another book in the next decade, get married, and spend more time with her loved ones.
“There’s going to be another book. I’m working on it right now…But [in the next] 10 years, marriage, happiness, taking a break from thinking so hard, hopefully, while running my empire,” she expresses. The actress hopes that in 10 years she can take a step back and feel accomplished and good about herself.
Thorne Is Writing Her Own Show
Bella is also writing her own show and is down with writing two episodes so far. However, she does not reveal much about the show or even its title. She said the title itself will give away what it is about. But she did reveal that it is based in the industry.
Describing the show, she says it is very dark and says it has a lot of characters and parents. The actress reveals that in the show, they will deal with the relationships between them. She shared, “And all these characters really connect and intertwine throughout the whole series. Each episode, you kind of get a whole piece of that and it shocks you and then that kinda leads you into the next.”
Bella might not be able to reveal the show she is writing about but she definitely does not hold back when it comes to Netflix’s The Babysitter sequel. The actress will again be seen in her role as cheerleader Allison.
She said it was crazy for everybody to be back in these characters. The actress further adds its great to be able to do a number two on a project that was so out there in the first place. She said, “To get to work with McG again and just be around his lively, sweet, endearing energy.”
Bella says they “upped the ante” for the sequel, The Babysitter: Killer Queen. She said they had a lot of fun creating it again and also having big jokes from the first movie. The actress shared, “Kind of bringing those callbacks and just changing them a little bit with new characters. All of our new characters that are in it are just so fun. So out there. It’s very funny. It’s very good.”
Bella Talks About Comparison With Zendaya
She said the way they did it is smart and talked about a possible third movie. The actress said they could make a number three and refuses to put it past anybody on that set to think of some crazy new thing and how it works. She said, “I’m just like, will they bring us all back again? That would just be, you know, like, ‘Oh my goodness!'”
Bella has always deemed to fight for fully-developed female characters. She says almost every female in that industry has taken that on. The actress says you have to fight for your daughters, and all the stigmas and the boxes they have put us into. She also says she will always be fighting for that.
The actress has been in the limelight since Disney Channel’s Shake It Up, along with Zendaya. Both her and Bella have come a long way in their own lives. However, Bella expresses how she hates when people compare both of them.
“When you’ve got women and you’re growing up in the same market, even just as well other Disney stars, even if they’re not on the same show, you still get pitted against each other,” she relays. The actress thinks that people love putting women against each other. She says this has been happening to her and Zendaya since they were on the show and it’s not a surprise.
Bella reveals that she does not read articles about herself as she does not like the negativity that comes with it. “I’m just not gonna waste my time hearing their negativity because I have better things to fill my head with. With growth, real growth,” she added. “And I think that when people are just really negative, then it’s harder to grow.”
However, Bella will not stop supporting Zendaya as she expresses her excitement for her receiving an Emmy nomination for Euphoria. She hopes that Zendaya wins and says the show is amazing. The actress said, “I love Sam Levinson. I love her, so I’m gonna have my fingers crossed the whole entire time. I’m going to be waiting for this acceptance speech!”
The Babysitter: Killer Queen is now streaming on Netflix.
