Ava Kris Tyson Departs MrBeast Following Grooming Allegations
YouTuber Ava Kris Tyson, a former co-host on MrBeast’s popular channel, has announced her departure from the team amidst allegations of grooming a minor.
Allegations Surface
The controversy began on July 21st when several YouTube videos surfaced containing screenshots of messages purportedly sent by Tyson several years ago.
The messages were allegedly sent when Tyson was 20 years old, and the recipient was 13 years old at the time.
Allegations Denied
One of the alleged victims, LavaGS, came forward to defend Tyson, claiming the accusations were “massive lies” and a misrepresentation of the truth. LavaGS stated, “Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes. I was never exploited or taken advantage of.”
On July 23rd, Ava Kris Tyson addressed the situation directly, offering an apology for past behavior and announcing her departure from MrBeast’s team.
“I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or offended anyone. It was not my intent,” Tyson stated. “Seeing recent events, we’ve mutually decided it’s best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health.”
In a later post, Tyson elaborated, acknowledging past mistakes while firmly denying grooming accusations. “I humbly apologize to anyone I have hurt with my unacceptable social media posts, past actions, and to those who may feel betrayed by how I used to act online,” she wrote.

The allegations and subsequent departure have sparked discussion within the online content creator community. Prominent figures like Twitch streamer Pokimane, YouTuber Valkyrae, and streamer Ludwig have all weighed in with their thoughts on the situation.
It’s important to note that these are just allegations, and no official investigation has taken place.
