Apple Ready To Cut Ties With Intel

Obviously almost everyone knows Apple but here’s a quick go through for those who don’t :

Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. It is considered one of the Big Tech technology companies, alongside Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook.

Intel

Coming towards Intel, same for Intel but a have a glance at it:

Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, in Silicon Valley.

History of this relationship

It was a shock because Intel was the biggest chipmaker for PCs that ran Windows, and Microsoft was Apple‘s biggest rival at the time.

But Apple was having trouble designing chips that could keep up with the ambitions for Macs and MacBooks, so it went with Intel. Macs have used intel chips since 2006. It’s 10 years into Apple’s partnership with Intel, and there’s increasing talk that Apple will be able to start making it’s chips again in a few years.

The final decision

Silicon Valley is bracing for a long-expected breakup of Apple and Intel, signaling both the end of one of the tech industry’s most influential partnerships and Apple’s determination to take more control of how its products are built.

Apple’s move is an indication of the growing power of the biggest tech companies to expand their abilities and reduce their dependence on major partners that have provided them with services for years — even as smaller competitors and the global economy struggle because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Facebook, for example, is investing billions of dollars into one of Indonesia’s fastest-growing apps, a telecom giant in India, and an undersea fiber-optic cable around Africa. Amazon has built out its own fleet of cargo planes and delivery trucks. And Google and Apple continue to buy upstarts to expand their empires.

Apple was troubled by the production stumble, who was not authorized to speak about confidential dealings between the companies. Intel also ran into stronger-than-expected demand for other types of chips, causing production shortages that crimped sales for some PC makers last year. The combination further tarnished Intel’s image as a reliable producer.

Hence they planning on breaking up with Intel. And the huge tie between two amazing American-based Multi-national companies will break.
