American Punjabi Artist Fifi Releases Her Debut Punjabi Single “New York Di Kudi”

FiFi, an American Punjabi artist is set to become Chitral’s first female musician with her debut Punjabi single “New York Di Kudi.”

Born in Chitral and raised in New York, FiFi has earned global following for sharing her love of Punjabi music and culture. Chitral which is located in the remote northern region has never had a female musician, FiFi decided that she wanted to be the girl to change that. She knew that by taking this step of courage, she would be paving the way for many other girls to pursue their dreams.

Music has always been a passion for FiFi, growing up she listened to Urban New York hip hop but never lost sight of her Punjabi roots, this is why making a fusion track of Punjabi and New York Hip Hop was of the utmost importance.

The track is about a confident and bold Punjabi girl who lives in New York, she’s happy and content with herself and her lifestyle – FiFi’s aim with the song from the start was to make an upbeat dance track that could also help empower girls.

After finishing writing New York Di Kudi, FiFi knew that she wanted to work with a producer who could bring her vision to life. Little did she know at the time that an artist like Deep Jandu who was one of her biggest musical inspirations would believe in the song enough to produce it. With the combination of FiFi’s inspiring vision and Deep Jandu’s incredible musical talent, New York Di Kudi is definitely a song that will be loved by an international audience.

Although, FiFi was approached by multiple Indian labels for the release of her song, she decided to take the self release route and become an independent artist. She released the music video on November 20th on her own Youtube channel. The single is now available to stream on all platforms.
