Aditya Roy Kapur To Replace Sidharth Malhotra In Thadam Remake

The Kabir Singh producer, Murad Khetani announced his next project last year which is the Thadam remake. The film was supposed to feature Sidharth Malhotra and Mrunal Thakur in the lead. It was due to premiere in November but it recently went through major changes.

Sidharth expressed his reservations about the new screenplay and opted out of the project. This happened earlier this year and the film went off schedule. However, now we see some progress on the venture, and the maker has found their new star.

It is none other than Aditya Roy Kapur. According to a source the actor has been locked in to play the lead role now. The movie is described as an action-packed film that will also include double roles. This will also mark Aditya’s first double role ever. The insider said, “When Sid opted out, they were on the lookout for a good-looking hero who’s fantastic with action. Apart from Adi, Mrunal remains part of the cast.”

The Malang actor is currently finishing his other film with Ahmed Khan. According to the insider, when he was approached for Thadam, he met the team and loved the script. The actor loved the duality of the characters. “He has given them dates to begin the film sometime this year after he wraps work on Om,” revealed the source.

Aditya had announced his project Om- The Battle Within on his 35th birthday. The movie is produced by Ahmed Khan and Shaira Khan. Excited about this film, the actor said, “Last year I was juggling between shooting Malang and Ludo around this time and both the films have received immense love and appreciation. COVID notwithstanding those years has been a special one on the work front. I have been living with OM for a few months now and to see it being announced on my birthday makes it extremely special. Looking forward to the journey.”
