Eric Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, predicts an even crazier scene in season 3 than the upcoming Herogasm. The Boys has stood out as a breath of new air for viewers in a television world dominated by superhero properties.

Last year, Amazon’s adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic series returned for a second season, earning new critical and fan praise. The Boys received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series (along with four other nominations) just yesterday, helping to disprove the notion that genre shows aren’t eligible for big honours.

There are a lot of high hopes for The Boys season 3 because of all of this praise. The remarks of individuals engaged with the show, such as Homelander actor Antony Starr, who recently proclaimed it his favourite so far, have contributed to this.

Herogasm

Season 3 of The Boys hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s likely to focus on America’s past through the introduction of Super Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). In addition, episode 6 will feature the filthy Herogasm plot from the comics, which promises to be as as intense onscreen as it is on the page.

But that is precisely what Kripke is hinting at. It’s difficult to imagine anything exceeding a superhero orgy, but perhaps it’s best to wait and see what The Boys have planned. Season 2 included a supe named Love Sausage with a prehensile penis, a whale impaled by a speedboat, and a villain who could make heads explode. The Boys hope to overcome all of that in the near future. It’s a huge order, but they might just be able to accomplish it.
