The premiere of Loki attracted a wider audience than other MCU Disney+ shows
During its first week, Loki’s premiere episode was streamed more than any of the MCU’s other shows. Loki is the third show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it debuted on Disney+ on June 9th.
Tom Hiddleston returns as the eponymous God of Mischief, who is detained by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) for deviating from the sacred timeline after escaping with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, before being hired on to help them track down another dangerous Loki variant, Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie.
The next Marvel series will be Marvel’s What If…?, which received its first trailer on July 8th and will premiere on Disney+ on August 11th.
WorldWide Popularity
Now it appears that Loki’s first episode had the same wonderful purpose as the God of Mischief himself, with Indiewire claiming that the show was streamed for over 731 million minutes over its first week of June 7th-13th.
Loki outperformed its predecessors by a large margin, according to Nielsen ratings, which measure the viewing figures of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Hulu by TV screen with a month’s delay.
WandaVision got 434 million minutes of viewing in its first week, while Falcon and the Winter Soldier earned 495 million minutes in its first week.
With this in mind, Loki’s high ranking is certainly amazing and good news for the series. It will only be a matter of time before the show’s momentum is maintained when the reports for the upcoming episodes are issued, especially with the show’s finale approaching. Hopefully, it will be able to surpass WandaVision’s high point before then. When Marvel’s What If…? is released in August, it will be even more interesting to see how Loki compares.
