The new Dexter season 9 image has revealed the title character, Dexter Morgan has a new identity and career. Dexter debuted back in 2006 and instantly became a cult classic and one of Showtime’s most popular series. Michael C. Hall received a number of accolades for his portrayal of the anti-hero.

The main character was a forensic blood-spatter analyst for eight seasons and maintaining deadly hobbies was also on the side. But the season ended with one of the most controversial sign-offs in television history. The final episode saw Dexter faking his own death after the death of his sister, Debra. He became an insular lumberjack in Oregon.

Showtime had announced last year that Dexter will return for a 10-episode limited series with Michael reprising his role. The series is helmed by the original showrunner, Clyde Phillips. He left the series after four seasons. Dexter season 9 is set in the fictional town of Iron Lake, New York. Showtime also released a trailer recently teasing the release of the season.

But the badge says his name will now be Jim Lindsay and he is a sales associate at Fred’s Fish & Game.

The new name and career were confirmed by director Marcos Siega. Dexter’s new identity could be a patron to the show’s creator, Jeff Lindsay. The character working at a fishing supply store will surely keep him out of the limelight. Furthermore, the new job might give Dexter admittance to the lake that could be a hiding spot for corpses.

Dexter season 9 is expected to be more sinister than the previous seasons. Michael has been the only actor who is confirmed to return from the original cast. But Jamie Chung has implied that familiar faces from the original series might return. Jamie used to play a true-crime podcaster. The new season might come as a shock to fans but for Michael and Clyde, they have been on the next chapter for years.
