Arnold Schwarzenegger is in a good mood! Netflix has picked up a spy series that was revealed last year, and the legendary star is expected to make his web streaming debut. The spy series, created by Nick Santora, will follow a father-daughter couple, and Arnold has been cast in the role. Monica Barbaro, who starred in Top Gun: Maverick, will co-star alongside Arnold.

Netflix revealed on Wednesday that the spy series has been picked up for eight hourlong episodes. According to The New York Post, the series will revolve around a father-daughter couple who are somehow unaware that they have both been undercover CIA operatives for years . The show “addresses universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, fantastic action, and comedy,” according to the official synopsis.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was equally thrilled by the results. He said in a statement, “Fans from all over the world have been requesting a wild ride like this for years, and thanks to our fantastic partners at Skydance and Netflix, they will finally get it. I’m happy to begin working on the show with Nick and Monica, as well as the entire crew.” Along with Nick Santora, David Ellison of Mission: Impossible 7, Dana Goldberg of Jack Ryan, and Bill Bost of World War Z, Arnold will serve as executive producer on the show.

The show’s release date and shooting schedule have yet to be confirmed. Regardless, we’re looking forward to seeing the actor onscreen again. Santora is also producing the untitled series, having produced and developed the original concept. According to Variety, the project was first produced internally at Skydance TV before being released on the streaming market.

Schwarzenegger, one of the most iconic action stars of all time, will reunite with Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost after working together on the Terminator Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate films.

The story will follow a father-daughter team who discovers they have been employed as CIA operatives for several years. Over time, they both understand that their whole relationship has been a misunderstanding and that they don’t know anything about each other. They are expected to work together as partners to deal with family dynamics as a result of circumstances and events.
