Emma Watson Clarifies Reports About Engagement & “Dormant” Career
Emma Watson was silent since last June even if she has 60 million followers on Instagram and 30 million on Twitter. However, the actress finally broke her silence when she took to her social media handle to address the speculation around her life.
The Harry Potter star clarified that the rumours of her getting engaged or not or whether her career is “dormant or not” are ways to create clicks. She wrote, “Dear Fans, Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is “dormant or not” are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue.”
The actress promised that if she has news she will share it with her fans. Emma’s last project was her 2019 movie, Little Women. There were several reports doing the rounds claiming that the star is retiring from her acting career. It was also rumoured that she was engaged to her boyfriend, Leo Robinton, with who she recently moved in.
Emma further urged her fans to assume there is no news from her that in the meantime. She said it just means she is spending her pandemic the way most people are. The Little Women actress wrote, “In the meantime please assume no news from me just means I’m quietly spending the pandemic the way most people are – failing to make sourdough bread (!), caring for my loved ones and doing my best not to spread a virus that is still affecting so many people.”
The actress sent love to all her fans and said she hopes everyone is as okay and happy as one can be under the circumstances. She further thanked everyone who is working hard to keep people safe and well. Emma wrote, “I am sending so much love to you, hoping you’re ok and as well and happy as you can be in these strange times. And again, thank you to everyone working so hard to keep us safe and well. E Xx.”
