Top 8 Most Anticipated Films To Watch As Theatres Re-Open
The film industry is full of excitement as the government finally allows cinema halls to operate 100%. Theater owners are expected to give a warm welcome to the cinemas with a long list of films awaiting the opening of the silver screen.
Among them are the highly anticipated films that could not meet their release date on coronavirus lockdown last year, and many more could end up on the big screen instead of going to streaming platforms.
Sooryavanshi
Akshay Kumar-starrer is the third film for Rohit Shetty’s cop universe after Ajay Devgn’s Singham and Ranveer Singh of Simmba, starring Katrina Kaif as a female lead. The film is expected to be released in the first quarter of the year, according to film commercial analyst Taran Adarsh. The film was due to be released in March 2020 but has been delayed ever since.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film tells the story of winning the first World Cup in India in 1983. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Kapil Dev and his wife Deepika Padukone plays the role of Kapil’s wife Romomi Dev. According to Taran, the film could release in the first quarter of this year.
Bell Bottom
Akshay seems to be in mood to make up for the lost time and has completed the shoot of his next, Bell Bottom in a start-to-finish schedule during the pandemic. He has also confirmed April 2 as the release date of the film which also stars Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor and Lara Dutta.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai
The movie performed by Salman Khan missed its release on Eid last year but it has now been confirmed that it will come with Eid this year. It stars Salman’s Bharat co-stars Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda. Theatre-owners and distributers had requested Salman to release the film in theatres and Salman had agreed.
Sharmaji Namkeen
Rishi Kapoor was working at Sharmaji Namkeen when he died last year. Paresh Rawal intervened and played the same character to complete the film which will feature the event to celebrate Rishi’s birthday on September 4th.
Dhakad
Kangana Ranaut is currently filming her action film Dhaakad and has set it up for the Gandhi Jayanti weekend to be released. The film, starring Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta in a thrilling role, will hit the October 1 stage.
Jersey
Shahid Kapoor booked this Diwali for his sports drama Jersey. He recently released a new film still and confirmed that the film will light up theatres on November 5. It is a Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu blockbuster of the same name and chronicles the story of a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to the field in his late 30s driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfil his son’s wish for a jersey as a gift.
Rashmi Rocket
Taapsee Pannu recently wrapped up the recording of her sports film, Rashmi Rocket. She plays the Gujarati runner in the film that also features Abhishek Banerjee, Priyanshu Painyuli and Supriya Pathak. The release date has not yet been announced by the producers but is expected to be released this year.
