Kate Bishop Survived Thanos’ Snap, Says Hailee Steinfeld
Kate Bishop survived Thanos’ snap during the events of Avengers: Infinity War; according to Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld in an interview. The actress portrays a youthful hero who trains under founding Avenger Clint Barton; who is played by Jeremy Renner in a cameo appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On November 24th, the first two episodes of the six-part Marvel Disney+ series premiered.
In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos (Josh Brolin) made a snap that obliterated half of the cosmos, an event known as “the Blip.” Despite the fact that the wiped half of the cosmos reappeared in Avengers: Endgame, five years had passed and the planet had changed permanently. Many MCU projects have seen the effects of the Blip. With Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris); WandaVision depicted the immediate aftermath; while Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Spider-Man: Far From Home; and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings explored how society is readjusting.
The incident rocked the MCU as a whole, and now Marvel’s newest hero tells how the Blip affected her. Steinfeld was asked if her character was trapped in Thanos’ fury in an interview with The Wrap about her MCU debut in Hawkeye. Kate was not caught up in the Blip and had survived, according to Steinfeld.
Steinfeld went on to say that it’s probable Kate felt grief during those events, as well as the death of her father; but that she survived, presumably implying that the programme will reflect Kate’s viewpoint on the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Take a look at Steinfeld’s response in the video below.
“No, I believe that we see her survive and we see, you know, loss there as well. And that didn’t happen to her.”
Tony Stark’s Snap Caused The Celestial Tiamut To Awaken
Despite the fact that Kate’s Blip fate is never officially addressed in the first two episodes; the show does hint at her location. Kate is revealed to be 22 years old during the events of the programme; which takes place two years after Avengers: Endgame and takes place in 2024. Kate is around ten years old during the Chitauri onslaught in Episode 1, “Never Meet Your Heroes,”; which involves a flashback to the battle of New York from The Avengers.
If Kate was trapped in the Blip, she would have been gone for five years, putting her about the age of 17 at Hawkeye’s time. Not only for the people involved but also for those who have yet to encounter them; the Blip has become a fixed point in the MCU’s timeline that is difficult to ignore or write over.
In Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark’s snap caused the Celestial Tiamut to awaken and Ajax to alter his mind; kicking off the events of the film. Even if the Infinity Saga is over, the effects will reverberate into Hawkeye and beyond.
