Twitch Streamer Pokimane To Giveaway $100k In Tuition Costs To Student Gamers

Pokimane is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. Her streams are full of entertainment, fun games, and gossips. Pokimane is one of the biggest female streamers on the platform.

In 2020, the streamer announced that she would be giving away money in the form of scholarships to student gamers who find it hard to juggle between school and gaming. And guess what? Pokimane has not forgotten her promise.

Pokimane And AVGL Partnership

She has announced that she will be giving away $100k scholarship to student gamers this year. Pokiamne partnered with American Video Game League (AVGL) to execute this project. The breakdown of the scholarship amount is as follows:

Pokimane will contribute $50k and the rest would be contributed by the producers of collegiate esports events and content American Video Game League.

Eligibility For The Scholarship

What is the eligibility criteria for availing the Student Gamers scholarship? The candidates should submit a short clip of themselves talking about their “background and goals as a gamer.” The scholarship applications are open until the last day of 2021 and then the results would be announced.

The official date of scholarship decision announcement has not been confirmed but we know that the scholarship will be given to those who are set to attend college in the Fall of the following year.

“With both of my parents being teachers, I’m especially proud to be launching another scholarship to help students with a gaming passion,” Pokimane said in a release.

“I know firsthand that it’s not easy to balance schoolwork and a gaming career. I hope that this scholarship will alleviate that stress for aspiring gaming content creators and players.”
