Kelsey Grammer On Return As X-Men’s Beast In MCU: He’d Love To Do It

Kelsey Grammer would love to reprise his role as Beast from the X-Men franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor is most known for his two-decade role as Dr Frasier Crane, a psychiatrist; who first appeared in the third season of the NBC sitcom Cheers and later had his own spin-off programme, Frasier.

Grammer’s career as the radio psychiatrist ended in 2004, earning him four Primetime Emmys and two Golden Globe nominations; but he is poised to reprise the character in a Paramount+ reboot. Apart from Frasier, one of Grammer’s most well-known appearances was as Dr Hank McCoy; best known as the enormous blue mutant Beast, in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand.

In 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, Grammer reprised the character in an uncredited cameo appearance. Despite Nicholas Hoult taking over as the character in previous films, he has remained open to returning to the role. Now, with Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, the X-film Men’s rights have been returned to Marvel Studios; the mutants are set to appear in the MCU at any time.

Grammer is eager to reprise his role as Beast if the X-Men are eventually integrated into the MCU. According to NJ.com, a fan presented Grammer with a Funko Pop toy of his X-Men character to be signed during a recent public appearance; and the actor confessed that he would “love to do Beast again,”; though no one from Marvel has approached him about it. I‘d love to do Beast again. Nobody’s really talked to me about it. I think maybe they’re gonna try to do another one. I’m assuming that they would go with, you know, the first is the best.

X-Men Might Make Their Debut in Doctor Strange

Given that the actor portrayed Quicksilver in the X-Men films; Evan Peters’ presence in WandaVision was the first clue that mutants might be finding their way into the MCU; however, it turned out he was just an imposter named Ralph Bohner. The Celestials developed the X-gene in the comics; which gave rise to mutants, therefore Eternals was seen as the next opportunity to bring the X-Men into the MCU. Those theories, however, never came to fruition.

Professor X, along with a few other mutants, are expected to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; which might be when Marvel finally decides to pull the trigger on the X-Men’s transfer into the MCU. It’s unclear whether Grammer’s Beast will be one of them, however; the fact that Hoult portrays a newer version of the monster would undoubtedly hurt his prospects. It’s also feasible that Marvel will choose to replace the part entirely.
