Fans were trolled by the new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home because of the leaks
The Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser contains multiple major spoilers for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, but it also mocks fans for leaking info.
No Way Home continues to tease an MCU universe-altering narrative. After Peter Parker messes up Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) memory wipe spell, prior Spider-Man villains enter the MCU, the next trailer shows more of the aftermath. More scenes of the villains, including Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman, and Rhys Ifans’ Lizard, are shown in the footage.
Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, has a new look as well. Everything culminates in a massive battle that appears to put MJ (Zendaya) in danger.
Fans were trolled by the new trailer
For months, rumors have circulated that previous Spider-Man actors will also appear in the future picture. Images circulating on the internet purport to show Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their roles as Peter Parker, assisting Holland’s take on the invading villains.
Aside from the obvious leaks, the trailers are littered with Easter eggs concerning the characters’ appearances. For example, Tom Holland wears a costume that looks remarkably similar to Tobey Maguire’s from a previous Spider-Man film.
No Way Home is virtually teasing fans about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s appearances in the MCU film at this point. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man takes on the MCU’s invading villains on construction near the Statue of Liberty in the new teaser. Despite rumors that the No Way Home leaks with Maguire and Garfield are fake, the teaser features a landscape that appears to be similar.
Scaffolding, which was shown in the leaks, is also visible in the new footage. In addition, the other Spider-Man actors appear to have been chopped out of several shots in the trailer. Lizard is even attacked by an unknown entity, which may be Garfield’s Peter Parker, who has been removed from the scene by Marvel.
