AMC Theaters Planning To Accept Shiba Inu Cryptocurrency As Payment
The real-world usage of Shiba Inu is finally coming to light with businesses accepting the coin as a mode of payment. The dog-inspired cryptocurrency Shiba Inu has shown on a massive rally in its prices last month.
SHIB is the ninth most valuable cryptocurrency in the world. It has also beaten it’s arch rival Dogecoin. And now, industry reports claim that AMC theater chain is planning to accept SHIBA INU as a mode of payment for actual goods and services.
Which Cryptocurrencies Will AMC Accept?
AMC already accepts meme-coin Dogecoin for digital gift card purchases online. The CEO of the company Adam Aron has now revealed that the company is on track to fulfill its crypto ambitions by the end of the year.
By the end of 2021, AMC will start accepting Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Cash. Aron also said that Dogecoin will be accepted for all sort of goods and services from the first quarter of 2022. And what about Shiba Inu?
“It is the next one on out cryptocurrency hit parade,” said AMC Boss Aron in regards to SHIB.
The Crypto Craze
“There’s just been a tidal wave of inbound messaging to our company, and to me personally, that we ought to get much more active in the sphere of cryptocurrency and that there was real opportunity for AMC,” Aron said
“I can confirm today that we have been exploring with third parties over the past few months both how we can accept cryptocurrency and if it is feasible for AMC to consider even launching our own cryptocurrency,” Aron said. “Similarly, I can confirm to you today that we are now in conversation with multiple major Hollywood studios about the concept of joint venturing commemorative NFTs related to major film titles that show in our theaters.”
