Rumors Say That Tesla Will Now Accept Shiba Inu Cryptocurrency As Payment

Shiba Inu has been on a massive rally since the previous month. It hit consecutive all-time-highs and even clocked in more than 50% return in 24 hours on a single day.

However, after Elon Musk revealed that he does not hold any SHIB in his cryptocurrency portfolio, the price of the meme-coin tanked a bit. It recovered later on to hit a fresh record high. Currently, Shiba Inu is on the path to overtake it’s rival dog-inspired cryptocurrency Dogecoin to become the 10th most valuable cryptocurrency in the world.

SHIBA And Bitcoin As Mode Of Payment

Amidst all this, there has come a rumor that holds the potential to send the price of SHIB soaring to the moon. According to Watcher Guru on Twitter, Tesla has placed the ‘SHIB’ code into their website processing system along with Bitcoin. Elon Musk has previously announced that Tesla would accept payments in the form of Bitcoin.

However, he put a halt on the decision later on after energy and electricity concerns were raised by environmental activists.

It is believed that SHIB will be accepted as a form of payment to buy Tesla cars when the Bitcoin method of payment continues. If the news turns out to be true, the price of SHIB is expected to rally further.

Is Elon Musk Trolling SHIB?

However, a section of crypto enthusiasts feel that Elon Musk is just trolling SHIB, as he is famous for on Twitter. What happens next is left to be seen.

Google search trends for ‘Shiba Inu’ have exploded from October 2021 and the interest of the public in owning $SHIB has grown multifold.
