For Halloween, a Squid Game Actress dresses up as a Green Light, Red Light Doll
Lee Yoo Mi who wears the popular green light, a red light doll from Squid Game, had the perfect Halloween costume this year. Squid Game, a compelling drama created by Korean filmmaker Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix, addresses social themes such as survival and economic inequality.
The plot revolves around 456 participants competing in a variety of children’s games for a chance to win a large sum of money. They soon understand that there is a deadly catch: the competition will only have one winner, and failing to proceed will result in certain and instant execution.

Lee portrays Ji Yeong, a young lady who enters the games after serving time in prison for the murder of her violent father. Squid Game also stars an ensemble cast of Asian stars including Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, Wi Ha Joon, Jung HoHyeon, Anupam Tripathi, and O Yeong Su.
Despite its extreme brutality, the series drew worldwide attention and was lauded for its great storytelling and exciting sequences. The amazing success of Squid Game has made it Netflix’s most-watched series to date.
The popularity of Squid Game is clear as Halloween approaches, encouraging fans to dress up like one of the show’s characters. Lee begins the Christmas season by dressing up as the show’s signature green light, red light doll. The 27-year-old South Korean actress recently published photos of her Halloween outfit on Instagram and fans of Squid Game were blown away by her perfect replication. Lee’s makeover into the scary robotic doll is dead-on, with her hair styled in the doll’s signature pigtails and wearing the doll’s identifiable yellow shirt and orange jumper-dress.

The doll, also known as the Younghee doll, first appeared in the pilot episode of Squid Game and has since become a fan favorite. As the 10-foot robotic doll towered before them in the first game, the contestants played a round of red light, green light. As the players hurriedly run around, it sings a terrifying and ominous phrase. If the doll detects a player committing a mistake, the player is immediately shot by snipers.
