Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush starrer Atrangi Re is to get an OTT release, reveals Akshay Kumar

Even during the lockdown, Akshay Kumar showed no signs of slowing down. When restrictions were loosened, the actor announced new films and shot at the same time.

The release dates for Akshay’s five films were revealed last week when the Maharashtra government ordered the reopening of theatres. Sooryavanshi, Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, RakshaBandhan, and Ram Setu are among the films that will be released throughout the coming year.

Atrangi Re to release on OTT

The release date for his film Atrangi Re, which also stars Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush, is yet to be revealed. The film’s production began early this year and was completed earlier this year. Akshay told HT City that the Atrangi Re team is thinking about a direct-to-OTT release.

He confirmed the same, saying, “To be honest, I haven’t included Atrangi Re on the list yet since we’re still discussing whether it should be released theatrically or on Netflix. And, as it stands now, OTT may simply be Atrangi Re’s favorite medium.”

He went on to say that platform and content selection go “hand-in-hand.” “Atrangi Re has a terrific, never-heard-before theme and storyline,” observed Akshay Kumar. For me and Anand Rai, it’s vital that the picture be released on the best possible platform.”

“I am as much for OTT as I am for theatres,” he adds. The medium of distribution should be chosen by what is best for the picture.” While Dhanush and Sara play key roles, Akshay Kumar will play a pivotal role in the film.

Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, to release On Diwali

It appears that the wait to see Akshay Kumar in the role of a daring cop in Rohit Shetty’s film is ended. According to a recent update, Sooryavanshi will be released on Diwali this year.

In addition to Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif will play the lead in Sooryavanshi. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will also make cameo appearances in the film.

Earlier, the director of the film Rohit Shetty had a lively conversation with Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. At the meeting, a source confirmed that Uddhav Thackeray was appreciative of Rohit Shetty for taking a bold and difficult decision to postpone Sooryavanshi.

February 2021, when the federal government allowed 100% of people to theaters, the producers decided to release the film on April 2.
