Anushka Sharma is delighted about Virat Kohli’s decision to step down as T20 captain

Virat Kohli has declared his desire to step down as India’s T20 captain after the team’s performance at the upcoming T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. He made the announcement in a recent posting on social media. Anushka Sharma, the cricketer’s wife, has now come to his aid.

Virat’s message was shared on social media, and she added a heart emoji to it. Vamika, the couple’s newborn girl, is currently in Dubai.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma form a lovely couple. The duo recently flew to Dubai for the upcoming T20 World Cup after spending nearly two months in London. Virat Kohli just issued a statement on social media confirming his decision to step down from T20 captaincy. Anushka shared her husband’s post on her Instagram stories and added a heart symbol to show her support. Virat Kohli was also tagged.

Virat Kohli’s Statement

Virat Kohli announced on September 16 that he will step down as India’s T20I captain following the T20 World Cup in the UAE in October-November. He has stated, however, that he will continue to captain India in Test and One-Day International cricket.

“I have been fortunate enough to not only represent India but also lead the Indian cricket team to my utmost capability. I thank everyone who has supported me in my journey as the captain of the Indian cricket team. I couldn’t have done without them – the boys, the support staff, the selection committee, my coaches and each and every Indian who played for us to win (sic),” 

 “Understanding workload is a very important thing and considering my immense workload over the last 8-9 years playing all 3 formats and captaining regularly for the last 5-6 years, I feel I need to give myself space to be fully ready to lead the Indian team in Test and ODI cricket. I have given everything to the team during my time as T20 captain and I will continue to do so for the T20 team as a batsman moving forward. Of course, arriving at this decision took a lot of time. After a lot of contemplation and discussion with my close people, Ravi Bhai and also Rohit, who has been an essential part of the leadership group, I have decided to step down as the T20 captain after this T20 World Cup in Dubai in October.”

On December 11, 2017, Virat and Anushka married. In Tuscany, Italy, the pair married in a small ceremony. In January of this year, they welcomed their first child, Vamika. Meanwhile, India will play Pakistan in the T20 World Cup opener on October 24 in Dubai. From September 19, Virat Kohli will captain Royal Challengers Bangalore for the rest of the IPL 2021 season.

Anushka Sharma, on the other hand, has yet to reveal her next Bollywood project. In 2018, she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the film Zero. Pataal Lok and Bulbbul are two web shows she has produced since then.
