My Dear Melancholy About Selena Gomez?
The album, My Dear Melancholy made a lot of buzz about Weeknd’s relationship with Selena Gomez. However, one of the songs stood out the most, Call Out My Name, which consisted of eye-catching lyrics.
“I helped you out of a broken place” and “Guess I was just another pit stop ’til you made up your mind” (an apparent reference to Selena getting back together with Justin).
There were also rumors about The Weeknd wanting to give his kidney for Selena. She suffers from lupus, a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. However, Selena received a kidney from one of her best friends, Francia Raisa.
In the lyrics of one of his songs he sang, “I almost cut a piece of myself for your life.” This created a lot of speculation about him referring to offer his kidney to save Selena from the life-threatening condition.
Selena is also rumored to have moved on as she referred to someone as “cute boy” in her new cooking show with HBO Max. She got a call from the mystery person, while she cut the call she told her mentor, “Sorry. Cute boy”. She got visibly distracted asking what she should do, as her grandmother said, “she got distracted right there”.
