The Guilty: Jake Gyllenhaal returns to Netflix in a remake of a thriller; Watch teaser
The Guilty, which will be released on Netflix on October 1st, one week after a limited theatrical release, has received its first teaser trailer. Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the ensemble cast and also produces the picture after gaining the rights to Gustav Möller’s 2018 Danish film of the same name.
“The film takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch contact centre,” according to the Netflix summary. Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) is a call centre operator who tries to save a caller who is in great danger, but he soon learns that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.”
The Guilty Teaser Out
Interestingly, since its release at film festivals in 2018, Möller’s film has been a favourite of Gyllenhaal’s, and it went on to become Denmark’s Oscar entry for Best International Feature. During the original film’s run, Gyllenhaal even acted as a moderator during Q&As, and his love for the picture eventually led him to acquire the remake rights. The presence of Gyllenhaal, as well as a star-studded cast that includes Ethan Hawke, Riley Keough, Paul Dano, Peter Sarsgaard, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Bill Burr — as well as “True Detective” writer Nic Pizzolatto and “Training Day” director Antoine Fuqua — should make this a must-see for action fans.

Meanwhile, the graphics in the teaser are mostly text on a screen. Through voice-overs, Gyllenhaal and a lady (perhaps Keough) describe the teaser. Finally, the writing comes together to form Gyllenhaal’s face. The original film, on the other hand, became a worldwide sensation. It also most do positive reviews, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 97 percent.
