Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson & Sebastian Stan Star In Netflix’s ‘The Devil All The Time’ Trailer

Netflix has just released the star-studded trailer for The Devil All the Time. Besides, Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson, the southern gothic thriller boasts of quite an impressive cast. Featuring Bill Skarsgard, Sebastian Stan, Riley Keough, Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke, Haley Bennett, Eliza Scanlen, Harry Melling and Pokey LaFarge.

Directed by Antonio Campos, The Devil All The Time is an adaptation of the 2011 novel by Donald Ray Pollock of the same name. Campos is known for his work on 2012’s “Simon Killer.”

The Devil All The Time is centered around an orphaned young man named Arvin Eugene Russell (Holland). It explores the psyches of various corrupt or broken characters between the end of World War II and the Vietnam War. The film is produced by Randall Poster, Jake Gyllenhaal, Riva Marker and Max Born.

“Everything ticked the boxes for me”

In the trailer for the upcoming Netflix film, viewers watch as Arvin starts to tear away from God, drifting into darkness after being gifted his late father’s gun on his birthday.

“I was really eager to work with Antonio because his previous films that I’ve seen are very raw,” says Holland. “I guess it was the challenge of doing a different accent, playing the rural kid, a period film, a new director. Everything ticked the boxes for me.”

The audience will get to see Holland in a new light, who, despite appearing in a number of dramas throughout his career, hasn’t been given a chance to flex his acting muscles outside of the Spider-Man franchise. The role is certainly different for Holland, and one that might gain him more recognition for his acting abilities.

“You don’t know what you’re going to get but it’s all interesting”

On the other hand, Pattinson has long proven his acting prowess by starring in a string of independent movies following the Twilight franchise. The Batman star will take on the role of a preacher named, Preston Teagardin. Who feels fine bending and breaking the morals of those that typically align themselves with his profession. Pattinson as the preacher is seen monologuing with a heavy Southern accent about the various “deluuusions” that lead people toward sin. The actor took his knack for spontaneity to the set in order to shape the character.

“Rob prepared a bunch of ideas and you don’t know what you’re going to get but it’s all interesting,” said Campos. “The character coming to life. I saw that in front of me when we were on set.”

An unholy preacher (Robert Pattinson), twisted couple (Jason Clarke and Riley Keough), and crooked sheriff (Sebastian Stan) converge around young Arvin Russell. (Tom Holland) As he fights the evil forces that threaten him and his family. Spanning the time between World War II and the Vietnam war, director, Antonio Campos’ The Devil All the Time renders a seductive and horrific landscape that pits the just against the corrupted. Co-starring Bill Skarsgård, Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Haley Bennett, and Pokey Lafarge, this suspenseful, finely-woven tale is adapted from Donald Ray Pollock’s award-winning novel.

Each actor gets to show off their acting chops

A month ago, Netflix released the official poster along with a number of images showcasing the film’s star-studded cast ahead of the movie’s debut on September 16. The released images tease a serious, adult drama filled with tension and a disparate group of extreme characters.

In addition to Holland and Pattinson, the Netflix drama also stars Sebastian Stan, in a role he took over from fellow Marvel alum, Chris Evans. There is also a great deal of screen time given to Bill Skarsgard. Who plays Arvin’s father, Willard, a man struggling with the things he did and witnessed during World War II.

From Keough to Harry Potter star Melling, each actor gets to show off their acting chops in the trailer, driving home the point that this isn’t a family-friendly blockbuster. But rather attempting to be an Oscar-worthy drama.
