SHINee’s Key Releases Emotional New Music Video Featuring Taeyeon
SHINee’s Key has released a dramatic video for his new single, Hate That. It features Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation.
This video shows Key living along in a space situation before he escapes for Earth after the station starts to malfunction. It saw the SHINee member singing in the rain as he expressed his frustration towards his former lover. He hoped they felt as miserable as he does.
Taeyeon is then joined back on Earth as they sing together, “And I hate and I hate / That you’re happy without me / And I pray and I pray / I want you to regret more than I do / If you loved me / I just hate that you’re happy.”
The song is dubbed as a “pre-release” single. This comes after the anticipation for Key’s next solo mini-album which will premiere in September. After the song was released, the singer took to his social media to post a behind-the-scenes shot. He simply captioned it, “Hate that is out!!!”
The song also will be the first solo release of the SHINee member after three years. His last release, I Wanna Be came out in 2019 and was a reprised version of his debut studio album, Face. It included collaborations with SISTAR’s Soyou, (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon and South Korean singer, Crush.
SHINee had made their anticipated return with the album Dont Call Me, earlier this year. However, the group had later on released a repackaged edition of the album titled, Atlantis. This featured three new tracks.
