There will be a second season of The Baby-Sitters Club in October
Season 2 of Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club will be released in October, according to a release date announced today. Adapted from Ann M. Martin’s popular and long-running The Baby-Sitters Club book series, Rachel Shukert’s Netflix adaptation premieres in July 2020.
While dealing with relatable issues like friendships, crushes, and struggles at home and at school, the film follows a group of middle school girls who start their own babysitter business in a fictional town in Connecticut.
As well as delighting critics and Baby-Sitters Club fans, the comedy-drama attracted an entirely new generation of viewers. Netflix’s decision to renew The Baby-Sitters Club in October came as no surprise.
Netflix will release The Baby-Sitters Club season 2 on October 11, 2021, nearly a year after the show’s renewal. The show’s second season will consist of eight episodes. According to creator and executive producer Shukert, The Baby-Sitters Club season 2 will continue to explore themes that allow “everyone under the age of 18 to see themselves represented onscreen.”
The Baby-Sitters Club
Those who are familiar with The Baby-Sitters Club will immediately recognise Mallory Pike and Jessi Ramsey, who are played by Vivian Watson and Anais Lee.
Returning cast members Sophie Grace (Kristy) and Alicia Silverstone (Kristy’s mother Elizabeth) will join them, as well as Momona Tamada, Shay Rudolph, Malia Baker, and Malia Baker. After Xochitl Gomez withdrew from the show because of conflicting schedules, Kyndra Sanchez has been cast as Dawn, replacing Xochitl Gomez from season 1.
‘Ann M. Martin’s beloved books get a modern update in this series’, says Netflix’s synopsis of ‘The Baby-Sitters Club.’
