These 3 cricketers married their relatives !!!

In this age of digital media where every info is available with just a few clicks, cricket fans these days aren’t just satisfied with their fans performing on the field, they want to know even their personal life. Weddings of cricketers attract a lot of attention from the fans and especially when the cricketers break the social norms to marry their relatives, fans obviously get excited to know who these cricketers are.

So, in this article, we bring to you these three cricketers who went beyond the so-called “rules” and married their relatives.

3) Virender Sehwag and Aarti Ahlawat

Sehwag was an entertainer on and off the field, with the former batsman known for his humor and power-hitting abilities. Sehwag holds the unique record of two triple centuries in Tests to his name and one double century in ODIs.

Meanwhile, talking about his married life, Sehwag used to like Aarti, now his wife, when he was just seven years old. They dated for a long time before deciding to get married, however, they faced opposition from their family as both of them were distant cousins.

They finally managed to make their families understand the love for each other and tied the knot in 2004. Virender Sehwag and his wife are happily married with two sons.

2) Mustafizur Rahman and Samia Parvin

Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur has earned a name for himself in the cricketing world, especially in the shortest format, with his skilled variations and a knack to strike key wickets. Mustafizur has played for many franchises in IPL, including the likes of Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

After establishing himself in the cricketing world, Mustafizur decided to settle in his personal life too. Shortly after surviving the horrifying bombing in Christchurch, the young pacer decided to get married to his maternal cousin Samia Parvin.

Mustafizur will next be seen on the field in the second half of IPL 2021 beginning in September.

1) Shahid Afridi and Nadia Afridi

Shahid Afridi would always be in the spotlight during his whole career, one such instance where he was in the spotlight for reasons other than cricket was in the year 2000 when he married his maternal cousin, Nadia.

The mega couple tied the knot on October 22, 2000 when Afridi was apparently just 20 years of age( you never know the truth of Afridi’s age). Though one must note that it was an arranged marriage under the supervision of Shahid’s father.

They have been happily married and blessed with five daughters, with the eldest daughter set to be married to Pakistan International pacer Shaheen Afridi.

Shahid Afridi, popularly known as “Boom Boom Afridi” had an illustrious career with a record number of sixes to his name and an excellent all-rounder.
