ENG vs IND: The debate between Anderson and Bumrah at Lord’s, according to fielding coach?
In many ways, the recently finished second Test match between India and England was remarkable and spoken about. Team India won the losing game and went on to win a historic victory at Lord’s. Aside from the wins and losses, the two sides had a lot of heated exchanges and verbal fighting.
Several scuffles occurred during the match between James Anderson and Virat Kohli, Anderson-Bumrah, and Butler-Bumrah. All of this was also filmed on camera and broadcast to the public.
No one could know, however, that Anderson and Bumrah were having an argument over a bar. R Sridhar, Team India’s fielding coach, has now spoken out on the topic.
Bumrah And Anderson
Sridhar revealed what happened between these two at the time during a conversation on R Ashwin’s channel. ‘You were bowling at 80-85 mph, but as soon as the 11th batsman came in, you started bowling at 90 mph,’ he alleged Anderson informed Bumrah. When Bumrah returned from the field, he told Anderson that he had not bowled those bouncers on purpose.
It’s worth mentioning that Bumrah bowled a 10-ball over against Anderson, which included several no-balls. Aside from that, Bumrah bowled Anderson a lot of bouncer balls.
Bumrah, on the other hand, had an argument with Jos Buttler when he walked out to bat in the second innings. After that, he and Mohammed Shami put on an unbroken partnership of 89 runs, which eventually proved to be crucial and important in the match.
On the final day, India set a target of 272 runs in 60 overs for England, but the hosts were all out for 120 runs in 52 overs, losing by 151 runs.
