Taylor Swift Gifts Kobe Bryant’s Daughter Natalia ‘Folklore’ Cardigan

Taylor Swift celebrated the release of her new album by gifting Kobe Bryant’s daughter, Natalia, a cardigan.

Vanessa Bryant took to her Instagram account to share a picture of her 17-year-old as she smiles holding up the cardigan. “Thank you @taylorswift #Cardigan,” the former model, 38, captioned the picture.

Natalia Bryant also shared a snap of her on her Instagram stories. She thanked Taylor and said she is obsessed with Folklore. The sweater is from a new music video that Taylor launched along with her album. The singer was seen wearing the same cardigan in her music video of the song Cardigan.

Taylor offered her condolences to the Bryant family among many other celebrities. Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna died in an unfortunate plane crash in January. They were among the seven other passengers in Calabasas, California. 

“My heart is in pieces hearing the news of this unimaginable tragedy,” the singer wrote at the time. “I can’t fathom what the families are going through. Kobe meant so much to me and to us all. Sending my prayers, love, and endless condolences to Vanessa and the family and anyone who lost someone on that flight.”

Kobe was a fan of Taylor and he was part of a surprise in 2015 during the Los Angeles stop of her 1989 world tour. He also joined Taylor on stage the Staples Center — the home of his team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe also hung a banner of Taylor with the Lakers’ NBA titles.

Taylor’s Surprise Release

Taylor took to Instagram to announce the surprise release of her new alum, Folklore. She said a lot of things that she did plan did not happen and things she did not plan did happen.

Taylor explained that the thing that did happen is her eighth studio album, Folklore. She wrote “Surprise!” and announced she will be releasing the album at midnight. The singer explained that she has put all her whims, dreams, fears, and musings into the album.

Taylor has already dropped her album Folklore. However, she has also released the music video of one of the songs in the album called, ‘Cardigan’. The singer assured fans that a medical inspector was present while shooting the video and everybody took the necessary precautions. She wrote, “The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling.”

Taylor has already described the song’s meaning. She said it is about a lost romance and why young love is often fixed so permanently within our memories. The singer continues about the song that it describes why love leaves such a mark.

Taylor’s new album consists of 16 songs on the standard edition, but as she shared on Thursday, the “physical deluxe editions” will have a bonus track called “The Lakes.” Other songs on the album bear titles “The 1” and “This Is Me Trying” as well as “Illicit Affairs” and “My Tears Ricochet.”
