Rihanna Announces Launch Of New Fenty Skin Collection Coming Very Soon
Rihanna sent fans into a frenzy in 2017, when she shook the beauty industry with the launch of her own brand, Fenty Beauty, which paved the new wave for inclusivity in cosmetics.
The multi-hyphenate mogul has now taken to Instagram to officially announce that she is diving into the skincare game with Fenty Skin.
“Skincare either works or it doesn’t”
Similar to the launch of Fenty Beauty, Rihanna has kept most of the details of her newest brand, Fenty Skin, pretty quiet so far. The singer first teased her newest project in the May 2020 issue of British Vogue. “Skincare, it’s the truth. It either works or it doesn’t. There’s nowhere to hide,” the singer hinted.
Announcing the official launch date
Rihanna has stayed true to her words, giving fans what they were highly anticipating. Fenty Skin is now out with an official launch date. “Ima try my best to be humble about this but @fentyskin is coming July 31 exclusively at FENTYSKIN.COM!!” Rihanna shared on both Instagram and Twitter.
Can you get early access to the collection?
Although the official launch date is out, Rihanna has given her fans the opportunity to get their hands on the collection a little bit early.
“Y’all ain’t hear it from me ???? but you can shop it early if ya drop me your email through the link in my bio,” she wrote on Instagram.
So by signing up with either an email or number on FentySkin.com, customers can get early access on July 29 itself to shop the collection before the rest of the public.
Possible Product line-up
Rihanna and Fenty Skin have yet to officially announce the complete lineup of products that will be available at the launch. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Fenty Skin will be covering the following. “Medicated and non-medicated skin care preparations and soaps. Body care kits comprising non-medicated body care preparations, and skincare product accessories.” It will not include “color cosmetics, perfume, and other fragrance-only products.”
The five names mentioned in the trademark are teasingly ambiguous. The supposed product names are, Total Cleans’r, Buff Ryder, Instant Reset, Fat Water, Flash Nap, and Hydra Vizor. These interesting names have just made fans even more excited to see what rihanna has in store for them.
Sneak Peak into the product line
Rihanna’s Instagram video gave followers a sneak peek at Fenty Skin, as she is seen using three different products.
From the small clip, we can already tell the packaging, is going for the same simple yet sophisticated design as Fenty Beauty. However, instead of it’s usual nude tones, it looks like Fenty Skin’s color palette will be mainly light purple. In the video, Rihanna seems to be applying what looks like a foaming cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.
Reaching out to fans
Not only has RiRi posted the video to her social media accounts, she has also begun responding to tweets from fans asking about the skincare line.
The singer has clearly designed her skincare with everyone in mind. One fan tweeted, “If rihanna come out with a Fenty skincare line for men i’m changing my middle name to Robyn,”Riri took the opportunity to shut down the, frankly ridiculous, assumption that skincare is only for women. “Whoever told you skincare has a gender, LIED to you! Hi Robyn! #FENTYSKIN,” she replied.
It seems like Fenty will continue to strive for inclusivity, no matter what they come out with. Apart from being gender inclusive, Fenty is looking to cater to different skin types as well. One Instagram follower with sensitive skin asked if the line would work for them. Rihanna responded, “saaaammmee!!! I get so scared to try new products! But I made this with love for my sensitive skin gang!”
The skincare line joins Rihanna’s already extensive empire. It so far includes makeup under Fenty Beauty, lingerie in the form of Savage X Fenty, and her own fashion house with LVMH, called Fenty.
