Zac Efron gets ‘Down to earth’ in new Netflix show trailer
Zac Efron is getting down to earth in his new environmental documentary. The 32-year-old actor’s new Netflix series sees him travelling around the globe. He is accompanied by a wellness expert, or “the Super food Hunter,” Darin Olien, who acts as guide alongside him. The recently dropped trailer gives us glimpses of the outside world, at the comfort of our homes during this lock down. The viewers get to follow Efron on this bizarre journey. The duo is seen experimenting with food while learning about energy and how to lead a sustainable life.
Finding new perspectives on old problems
The trailer shows the duo visiting a number of scenic locations. France, Puerto Rico, Iceland, London, Costa Rica, Lima, Sardinia and Iquitos are a few locations. Together, they are on a quest to discover how each locality harnesses nature to make a more sustainable future. The heartthrob is “traveling around the world to find some new perspectives on some very old problems.
The trailer mentions that the duo will meet top Eco-innovators who will teach them how to lead a sustainable life. Zac Efron wide eyed in excitement is seen eating everything from carbs, what seems to be pesticides and even dung smoked food. In a hilarious segment of the trailer, Efron is seen encountering a community fart bag. He even jokes that, “it burns like the Olympic torch.” The trailer echoes ‘how change is an inside job.’ How we need to rethink everything we consume, from food to power.
Zac Efron has always been vocal about helping the environment
Efron isn’t a new face in the fight for sustainability. The actor is quite the environmentalist. Efron has used his platform multiple times to raise awareness and urge his followers to help the environment. On the occasion of Earth Day, this April, he also participated in Discovery channel’s The Great Global Clean Up.
“I have always been in awe of the magic and mystery of Mother Nature,” the actor wrote on an Instagram post. “Exploring the unknown has always been a true passion in my life. Now, more than ever, I realize how important it is to take care of our planet. Our people and every living thing we share it with. Please be safe, be healthy and be kind to one another,” he wrote in an Earth Day post.

Travel lovers might catch a serious case of wanderlust after watching the trailer. There is only more envy in store for the viewers. Zac got to travel to these exotic locations and savour these mouthwatering delicacies before the COVID-19 pandemic. The new Netflix series Down to Earth will reportedly be aired on the popular streaming app on July 10, 2020.
