Anonymous is back and threatens to expose MPD and many others
While the world still mourns the death of George Floyd, protests against violence and racism erupt across the country. Amidst this chaos, Hacktivist group Anonymous resurfaced after years of inactivity. They are back with a bang and how. The elite group of hackers released a video message for the Minneapolis Police Department. The black-hooded figure with its trademark Guy Fawkes mask on, speaks out against police brutality. This comes in light of George Floyd’s brutal murder by ex-MPD officer, Derek Chauvin.
The claims come from a viral video posted originally on Anonymous’ own Facebook page. In the video, the figure says, “Police brutality and murder is a widespread problem in the United States. It has undoubtedly infected nearly every jurisdiction in the country. But, the MPD is among the worst and has a horrible track record of violence and corruption.” The figure claims that the killing of George Floyd was “merely the tip of the iceberg.”
Anonymous accused them of having a “long list of wrongful deaths at the hands of officers in your state.”
“Sadly, in the vast majority of police killings, the only one left alive to tell the story is the officer who took the person’s life,” the Anonymous narrator says. “This travesty has gone on for far too long… and now the people have had enough.”
The video, which has garnered millions of views, then threatened to expose MPD’s “many crimes” to the world. Those threats have turned out to be true as the MPD’s website was reportedly taken offline late on Saturday.
Exposing Trump and Jeffrey Epstein’s Little Black Book
Anonymous didn’t just stop there. They took the opportunity to expose President Donald Trump’s alleged involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous sex trafficking and child rape racket. A campaign linked with Anonymous, #OPDeathEaters, has resurfaced. The campaign re-released documents that are proof of Trump’s involvement in Epstein’s trafficking ring. It is not clear whether the documents are new or are from 2 years ago.
The group also released a document named Jeffery Epstein’s Little Black Book. The leaked document names Naomi Campbell along with Trump, Ivanka Trump, Prince Andrew, Phil Collins, and Tony Blair. The hackers reportedly exposed the royal family’s alleged involvement in the untimely death of Princess Diana.
What do Netizens think of this
Netizens can’t seem to get enough of the group. Tweets like, “waiting for #Anonymous to appear on TV and interrupt all programs in the USA” have been trending.
One user wrote, “This pandemic has pulled the curtain back on the cult of celebrities. People have woken up to realize that they are wrongly worshiped and don’t meaningfully contribute to society. #Anonymous leaks of celebrities connected with #Epstein is the nail in the coffin!.
