YouTube is the easiest way influencers and celebrities can connect with their audience. The platform allows content creators to publish videos online where they share their personal lives. This has also played a huge role for people who wanted to come out or speak about their sexuality.

For people who do not realize it, these videos are not an easy task. It is extremely emotional but these YouTubers have come out to their audience with poise.

Nikkie Tutorials

The makeup guru has taken over the beauty world on Youtube already. She came out to the world in January 2020. The video was titled I’m Coming Out. She was popular on YouTube for her videos like The Power of Makeup which went viral. The influencer inspired many women to show their bare faces.

Nikkie came out as transgender but she had made clear she never liked labels. She shared when she was younger, she was born in the wrong body. The beauty guru added,

“When I was younger I was born in the wrong body which means that I am transgender now. It’s so surreal saying this, filming this video is scary but it feels so liberating and freeing. Here we are. I am Nikkie Tutorials and I am Nikkie. I am me. We don’t need labels, if we are gonna put a label on it, yes I am transgender but at the end of the day I am me.”

Eugene Lee Yang

A member of The Try Guys, Eugene Lee Yang, came out as gay creatively through a dance performance. He came out in 2019 on The Try Guys channel where the video showed his journey towards discovering his sexuality. It also showed how he dealt with the pressure to conform but is finally living authentically.

The South Korean-American YouTuber had become popular after his many appearances for Buzzfeed videos. He had garnered a huge fan following after posting content for The Try Guys group. The Youtuber has been an active advocate for LGBTQIA+ charities and various human rights.

Joey Graceffa

Joey had become popular for his gaming content and his vlogging. He came out back in 2015 by releasing a music video called Don’t Wait. The influencer also released another video where he discussed his sexuality in depth. He even explained why he chose to do it through a music video.

Joey said, “I’m gay. I did it in the music video in a way that was um not officially saying it because in a way I think it’s not necessary to have to say who you are and do like a video just talking about your sexuality because my life is so much more than that and I wanted to do it creatively. It’s also important to be proud and open with who you are and show people that it’s okay to be gay and that’s who I am and I’m not going to hide that anymore.”

Gigi Gorgeous

The YouTuber had come out as pansexual this year. This was after she had come out as transgender and gay a few years back. She had posted a video titled, coming out for the last time… | Gigi. The beauty influencer clarified that she will not be deleting her previous videos where she came out.

She said it was because that was a part of her journey where she was diving deep into who she really was. The influencer revealed that she has gotten married to the same person who has since transitioned which means she is not with a girl. She added that she is with a man and that she is coming out as a married woman two years into her marriage.

Gigi said, “I am making a coming out video as a married woman two years into my marriage and five years into my relationship. I realized that I didn’t fall in love with Nats because of his gender, I fell in love with the person that he is. I just want to let everybody know that I am pansexual.”

Daniel Howell

The Youtuber is known by his username, danisnotonfire and came out as gay in a drama comedy-sketch in 2019. He had taken a break from YouTube and often produces videos with Youtuber Phil. Back in 2019 itself, he revealed that he was romantically involved with Phil Lester but would prefer his relationship to be private.

In the video, he stated that he “doesn’t feel the need to use labels.” He also addressed the internalized homophobia he dealt with throughout his life, which propelled him to a suicide attempt as a teenager. Daniel Howell also declared that he came out to his family over an email.

There are many other YouTubers and influencers too but it would take us all year to cover everybody’s beautiful stories. Let us know who is your favourite most Youtuber out of all of them.
