Zayn Malik Fires Off In Explosive Message To Grammys After Being Snubbed

Zayn Malik was accused of taking a dig at Harry Styles after his attack on the Grammys. The singer went on an explosive Twitter rant as he took aim at the awards ceremony because he was snubbed.

He launched into the tirade after the publication of the 2021 nominations. The former One Direction star took to his social media handle as he expressed his utter frustration on being snubbed. He wrote, “F*** the Grammys and everyone associated.”

The Pillowtalk singer wrote that there is no nomination considerations unless you shake hands and send gifts. He tweeted, “Unless you shake hands and send gifts, there’s no nomination considerations. Next year I’ll send you a basket of confectionary.”

However, Perez Hilton asked if it was him taking a dig at his former One Direction band member. He tweeted, “Wait. Is this shade against @Harry_Styles???????” Harry was nominated for three awards for the first time in his solo career. The singer is expected to perform one of his songs from Fine Line.

Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and BTS are among some of the singers who will be taking to the stage next week. The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards will be airing live on March 14 in the US. Zayn has achieved three Brit Awards, six Music Society Awards nominations as well as the NME and People’s Choice Awards.

However, the singer is still not been shortlisted for a Grammy and does not seem to have taken it well. He is also one of the many singers including The Weeknd for hitting out after feeling snubbed. The singer branded Grammys as being ‘corrupt’ after discovering that his critically acclaimed album, After Hours was not a part of it.

Abel Doesn’t Care About The Grammys

Zayn further tweeted clarifying that his tweet was not about eligilibility or personal but about the need for transparency. He wrote, “My tweet was not personal or about eligibility but was about the need for inclusion and the lack of transparency of the nomination process and the space that creates and allows favoritism, racism, and netwokring politics to influence the voting process”.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd has stated that his past Grammy wins mean nothing to him in an interview with Billboard. He said he does not care anymore as he shared he has three Grammys which means nothing. The Blinding Lights singer said, “Look, I personally don’t care anymore. I have three Grammys, which mean nothing to me now, obviously.”

He clarified that it is not as if he wants a Grammy but it is something that happened and he is down to get into the fire. The Weeknd explained, “It’s just that this happened, and I’m down to get in front of the fire, as long as it never happens again. I suck at giving speeches anyways. Forget awards shows.”

The Canadian actor, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, said he now focused on  “dialing in on the fans at home and making performances a cinematic experience, and we want to do that with the Super Bowl”.

His manager Wassim “Sal” Slaiby added that although the organizers of the show were accustomed to paying all production costs, the artist had invested $ 7m (£ 5m) to make”make this half-time show be what he envisioned”.

The singer is best known for his attention-fetching shows when he received major awards at the August MTV VMAs, appearing on stage with a bloodied face, and at the November American Music Awards, where her face was covered with bandages. The make-up and bandages are part of an anti-drink-driving message he has been promoting in his new music.
