Young Thug Rico Case: D.A Says Gang Sympathizers Threatening Witnesses

Following the recent public disclosure of private legal records, the Young Thug and YSL RICO case has received several witness threats.

The Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis disclosed that the identity of one YSL associate who is assisting investigators in the investigation was exposed in a leaked document.

Willis asserted that threats had been made in the intervening period against the witness and their relatives. The leak, which revealed a piece of the subject’s cooperative statement circulating on social media, is still unknown to the D.A.’s office. “We’re going to have to do things to make sure that the witnesses are safe. We need people to understand that they can cooperate. They can do the right thing and the state will be here to protect them,” Willis said.

Brian Steel, Young Thug’s lawyer, agreed that the leaks needed to cease in order for the case to go fairly, but he still believes his client will be cleared and has insisted on Thugger’s innocence ever since his arrest in May.

“Whomever is placing items of discovery online is not doing anybody a favor. It is totally inappropriate to try this case in social media. This case will be tried fairly and justly in Fulton County Superior Court,” Steel said.

A fresh gang charge, new drug charges, possession of a firearm while committing a crime, and possession of a gun were added to Thug’s legal woes the other week.

Numerous accusations result from narcotics and firearms found by police at the rapper’s Buckhead, Atlanta, residence during his May arrest. He will continue to be detained until the start of his trial in January.
