WWE Women's Tag Title

WWE Women’s Tag Title Tournament Announced, Featuring a Surprising NXT Team

During Monday’s Raw, the bracket for the tournament to crown the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions was revealed, and there was a big surprise among team members in the field. The tournament features two NXT stars. In first round, Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark will face Sonya Deville and Natalya. WWE has not stated when the fight will take place. Stark has recently returned to action following a serious knee injury.

On the July 19 episode of NXT, she made a surprise appearance in an NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender Battle Royal. Stark was declared the winner and will face champion Mandy Rose during Heat Wave special on Tuesday, August 16. The winners of the matches between Lyons and Stark and Deville and Natalya will face the winner of the first-round match between Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah and Xia Li and Shotzi.

The tournament’s first match has been scheduled for Monday night’s episode of Raw. Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, two of WWE’s newest additions to the main roster, were set to face the team of 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke & Tamina. Can they live together? When it comes to Brooke and Tamina, this is an appropriate question.

Clash at the Castle event

They’ve been competitors in the 24/7 division for months. In the meantime, Kai and SKY have already had their hands full since making their unexpected main roster debut appearance at SummerSlam. They’ve decided to support Bayley. They took Becky Lynch out in a backstage attack during the last Monday’s Raw. The trio is now focusing on Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, & Asuka. The six women consented to a tag team match at next month’s Clash at the Castle event during Monday night’s Raw.

Bliss and Asuka are also competing in the women’s tag team title tournament. In the first round, they will face Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop. Nikki and Bliss won the women’s tag team titles twice in 2019 and 2020. Last year, Nikki won the titles with Rhea Ripley as her partner. The other former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions in the game are Asuka, Natalya, & Tamina.
