WWE NXT Star Waller Wants To Face Cody Rhodes

All eyes were on The American Nightmare going into WrestleMania 39 when Cody Rhodes returned to WWE and won the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble event. Even though Rhodes is now focused on Roman Reigns, the undisputed WWE Universal Champion, other superstars may be interested in maybe facing the winner of the Royal Rumble, which might boost someone’s confidence in the organization.

During an appearance on “The Bump,” Rhodes questioned “NXT” star Grayson Waller about his refusal to let him appear on “The Grayson Waller Effect,” Waller’s “NXT” talk show. Waller answered, “I don’t like it.” The graphic of you and me on “The Bump” today made me feel like Apollo Crews, Cody, and that’s because I had a vision that the next time there is a graphic of you and me, it won’t be of us getting interviewed; instead, it will be of us fighting.

Waller vs Rhodes

Since you are currently the man, with all due respect. But even though you are the man, I choose not to interview you. “You’ve got me in a fight.” Though Waller aspires to one-day face Rhodes, he has a crucial match this Saturday at the Vengeance Day celebration, where he will face Bron Breakker with the hopes of emerging as the new “NXT” Champion.

Rhodes continued, “I wish you the best of success in the title bout. “We might be one step closer if you win the title match. By no means, I’ll give it my best if the next time we’re on a graphic and it’s you versus me.” He was the 30th participant in the men’s Royal Rumble match on Saturday night, and after almost 15 minutes in the ring, he was ultimately able to defeat the Intercontinental Champion Gunther to claim the victory.

With his victory, Rhodes has assured a world title bout at WrestleMania 39, which takes place on April 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. At the Hell In A Cell event in June of last year, Rhodes was injured in the days before his main event battle against Seth Rollins, but he famously decided to continue. The injury halted the upward trend Rhodes had been on since making his WWE comeback at WrestleMania 38. At WrestleMania 39, Rhodes probably will face Roman Reigns, the undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
