Will Sasha Banks and Naomi contend for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles?

While Naomi was on commentary, Banks made her comeback to the ring with a win against Shotzi on this week’s SmackDown. Naomi returned to the arena after the match to congratulate Banks and declare that they would be the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Banks was taken aback by Naomi’s reaction, but he agreed with her. To complete the section, they danced again to Naomi’s song. Sasha Banks and Naomi appear to be on the verge of contending for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Queen Zelina Vega and Carmella currently hold the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. They won the belts from Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley on the November 22 RAW. However they have only defended on TV once, on the January 3 RAW. When they maintained their titles against Nikki and Ripley. They successfully defended their titles three more times at non-televised live events. Including a victory against Toni Storm and Banks at the December 18 Supershow live event.

Banks and Naomi were originally a part of Team B.A.D. Which also included Tamina Snuka. The team was founded by Naomi and Snuka. Although Banks was a member from July 2015 until February 2016.

Will WWE plan to match Banks and Naomi against Vega and Carmella?

There’s no indication on whether WWE plans to match Banks and Naomi against Vega and Carmella at WrestleMania 38. Or if they’ll make it a multi-team match as they usually do to fill up the programme. Banks vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair had been rumoured for WrestleMania 38. But it was largely hearsay before Ronda Rousey returned to set up the fight with Flair.

Prior to last night’s victory against Shotzi, Banks’ previous TV match was on SmackDown on December 17th. When she and Toni Storm beat Flair and Shotzi. Prior to Friday night, her last TV singles match was on SmackDown on December 3, when she defeated Shayna Baszler. Banks’ victory over Shotzi was her first since last month’s Women’s Royal Rumble Match. She injured her foot at a WWE live event on January 2 and was expected to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks, according to WWE.

She was cleared to return just before The Royal Rumble. But she stayed backstage until last night’s SmackDown. Banks recently posted on social media that she was in Los Angeles for a few weeks, leading to suspicion that she was filming for the third season of The Mandalorian. Which premiered in October and will conclude on March 23.
