Will Netflix Original Spanish Series ‘Jaguar’ Be Renewed For Season 2?

The Spanish series on Netflix title ‘Jaguar’ awaits its fate for a second season. Here is what you need to know about the Season II of Jaguar.

So far, there has been no official news of renewal of the series. Jaguar comes from the same team which had worked on popular Netflix shows such as High Seas and The Cable Girls.

Plot

Talking about the plot of Jaguar, it tells the story of a holocaust survivor named Garrido who is on the hunt for one of the most dangerous Nazis following the war.

Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira are behind Jaguar.

So far there has been no renewal announcement from Netflix and according to industry source, there is no renewal going to come anytime soon.

Anyone who has watched the show will know that season 1 ends with a rather open ending with many unanswered questions. The series concludes with (spoiler alert) the team capturing Aribert Heim but Otto continues to freely live torturing Lucena.

But what factors are taken into consideration while deciding whether a show will be renewed for a new season?

Rankings

The major factor is the ‘Rankings’. Jaguar did have pretty good rankings in Spain but failed to deliver the same performance in other Netflix regions.

Jaguar was in the Top 3 for almost 8 days since its debut on Netflix Spain but it was more or less a dull performance elsewhere.

A show needs to spend 25-30 days in the Top 10 list to be considered for a renewal, as per historical Netflix decisions.

Thus, with the current data that we have, it does not seem likely that Jaguar Season II is a possibility but nothing can be said with certainty. It might so happen that Netflix decides to surprise everyone and renews the show for a new season.
