Bobby Lashley

Who Became the Number One Contestant for Bobby Lashley’s WWE United States Title?

As previously stated, a unique series of matches was planned for tonight’s WWE Raw show to ascertain who would be the next #1 contender to Bobby Lashley’s United States Championship. The notion began with two triple threat matches, which Styles won: AJ Styles vs. The Miz vs. Ali and Chad Gable vs. Tomasso Ciampa vs. Dolph Ziggler. Styles & Ciampa then raced in a singles match near the end of Raw to determine who would face Lashley on the 8/8 version of the red brand.

When the dust settled and both competitors had exhausted almost their entire arsenals of movements, Ciampa was named the winner after his signature Fairytale Ending manoeuvre. This would not have come as a surprise to anyone who had been following the news earlier today, as it was stated that Ciampa would be put in more contests to display his skills as a top – notch talent. There’s also been discussion of bringing back the former NXT World Champion with his well NXT theme, No One Will Survive, but no proposals have been made as of yet.

Ciampa has recently served as muscle for The Miz, accompanying The Miz and Maryse to the circle for The A-match Lister’s to Influencer wrestler Logan Paul at WWE SummerSlam on July 30th. Longtime WWE NXT fans will remember how near Triple H and Ciampa were during his tenure in the formative brand, even encompassing him after NXT Stand & Deliver this past Spring when Ciampa was promoted to the main roster. Now that Triple H is in charge of everything creative in WWE, it is evident that he desires main roster fans to see what Ciampa is competent of as a personality and in-ring entertainer.

Vince McMahon

Former WWE CEO & Chairman Vince McMahon resigned from his WWE responsibilities on July 22, leaving the company he invested 40+ years to build into an empire in the midst of an investigation into a series of hush money payments McMahon allegedly made to former female employees. But while his retirement is questionable given these findings, the wrestling world has primarily bowed their heads to the 76-year-old, including reigning WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley.

Lashley said, I have a lot of respect for Vince. Vince accomplished something unprecedented. When I heard the news, I told him how many people he’d taken care of. He take my children through school, provided a roof over my head, and did so much more for so many other people. That can be said by thousands of people.
