Update On Whose Match Is Expected To Open WrestleMania 39's First Night

All indications seem to lean strongly towards two women headlining WrestleMania 39's opening night.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns has been scheduled to conclude Night Two for some time.

Despite all the options being considered, Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the "SmackDown" Women's Title seems to have won out in the end.

Asuka vs. Bianca Belair for the "Raw" Women's Championship appeared to be the "stronger" possibility.

Unlike its "Raw" counterpart, which has been finalised ever since Ripley announced her decision to accept Ripley's challenge shortly after .winning the Royal Rumble

The "Stranger Things" WrestleMania teaser featuring Ripley also seems to point in that direction by making reference to the strain she might be under to win the upcoming main event.

Since the women had finally received their due in recent years, there had been backstage anxiety about the optics of having men's matches open on both nights of the show.

Many saw this as reversing the progress gained.
