Update For Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2 Is Coming Soon

As production on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 continues, Sony Pictures Chairperson Amy Pascal reveals that a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 update will be released soon.

The first film, directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, was released in 2018 with a script written by Rothman and produced by Phil Lord.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse follows Miles Morales as he develops spider-like abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider, but his world is turned upside down when the multiverse’s doors are opened, allowing him to team up with other Spider-People to save New York City from the Kingpin.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a critical and commercial smash upon its debut, starring Shameik Moore as Miles, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman.

Pascal sat down with Fandango to discuss Sony’s ambitions for the web-slinger as tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home went on sale.

Pascal acknowledged that a sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is on the way and voiced her excitement for the project when asked about it.

“It’s going to be fantastic. We have something to show on that very soon.”
