The Producer Of Spider-Man Warned Peter Parker Actors Against Dating Co-Stars

"

Amy Pascal, the producer of Spider-Man: No Way Home, warned her leads from the start not to date each other.

"

No Way Home, which debuted in theatres in the United States on December 17th, is already one of the year’s most popular pictures.

"

The film brings in characters from prior Spider-Man iterations, including both Sam Raimi’s 2002 trilogy and Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2. It also combines the cast of the solo Spider-Man films with the world of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.

"

In just one day, No Way Home has climbed into the top ten films of the year, with the second-biggest opening weekend box office of all time, trailing only Avengers: Endgame.

"

Amy Pascal was asked why she believes every Spider-Man actor has dated their co-star in an interview with The New York Times.

"

Despite the fact that she was not involved with the franchise when Tobey Maguire was dating Kirsten Dunst, she was present for the budding romances of Tom Holland and Zendaya and Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

"

“I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture. Don’t go there — just don’t. Try not to. I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma. It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me.”
